alexander wang bomber
you know those times you're just randomly browsing your favourite online stores, clicking from one thing to the next and not looking for anything specific (or at all, because you're broke), when you suddenly stumble upon a piece that literally makes you gasp out loud? that is amazing in every way? the second i laid eyes on this perfection of a bomber jacket, i was done. let's be honest: i'm not sure how this jacket could be more awesome. leather AND suede? laser cut perforations? bomber style? alexander wang?? plus, 60% off retail price? i wasn't going to kid around with this one. can't wait to receive this baby in the post next week.

usuals
alexander wang cardi and 'erin' boots, vintage prada slipdress, proenza schouler ps11
i'm sure this outfit or similar has been on my blog before; multiple times at that. different variants of this are probably my top go-to when i'm in a hurry and dressing primarily for comfort. a loose, short dress, bulky sweater or jacket (usually leather) and flattish boots make up my staple winter look. this is the perfect example of my preference for low key; i always prefer muted colours and patterns (if any) and aim for a more relaxed, everyday street look over anything else. that being said, i'm totally down with pops of colour throughout the colder months and so my aim this season is to incorporate more brights into my wardrobe. i know, almost a laughable concept for someone like me but hey, maybe i'll even surprise myself...
on a side note, i'm sorry if the slightly predatory looks on the graffiti dudes behind me creeped you out. i feel almost violated..

golden love
cartier love bracelet
when it comes to jewellery i'm all about easy, unique pieces that don't weigh an outfit down. i have never been into 'classics', except for this; the cartier love bracelet is the one exception to that rule. if there was ever perfection in a bracelet, this would be it. the idea of having $6k hanging daintily from my wrist is a little daunting, i admit; but aside from the price tag, the idea behind the bracelet is just so me. forget an engagement ring, give me a cartier and i'll be the luckiest girl in the world.

sportsgirl blogger edit
a couple of weeks ago i was featured on the sportsgirl website wearing a piece picked out from their current collection. the look was 'grunge', which was pretty much a no brainer for me. i wouldn't label my style as particularly grungy, but it definitely plays an unintentionally large part in my look.

lazy girls guide to dressing: part 1
alexander wang leather track pants (similar here and here), country road top (similar here and here)
now, i am by no means a meticulously dressed person but i like to think i know what i'm talking about when it comes to everyday wear. i am a self confessed slob who likes to put together outfits that are casual but at the same time true to my style. this is where the alexander wang track pants are perfect. i'm the kind of person who likes to wake up ten minutes before they have to leave the house, throw on a couple of items and have it work. one of my wardrobe staples are leather pants (all variations); these will work with practically anything and instantly make an outfit pop. i've noticed that leather trackies have made 'it status' this season and there are plenty to choose from; they are the perfect way to funk up the most casual of outfits. sure they may be man repelling, but if you are anything like me, that will only greatly increase their appeal.
looking for more options? i'm loving both the dion lee and 3.1 phillip lim pairs, or for a cheaper alternative, this pair by nicholas.

jetsetting
at the end of next month i will be flying to paris for a week. call me crazy but a friend and i have decided to chase one of our favourite bands, the xx, halfway across the world to see them play at the french festival le rock dans tout ses etats. you know, just a casual spur of the moment thing. can you believe i have never been to europe before? i've always spent my money trying to get to new york as often as i could but i'm thinking paris is a great way to start. it didn't seem real until i saw the pictures of the cute little apartment we rented, and now i am frantically scraping up all my pennies so that i'm not totally broke while there. i mean come on, i can't go to paris and not visit the isabel marant store, now can i?
on another note, i've been thinking about the content of my blog lately and as a result have decided to post much more than just outfits. i'll be posting more frequently, not only of what i'm wearing but inspiration, things i love, pieces i want etc. i would love to know what you guys would like to see more of!

back in black
alexander wang 'rocco' duffle
well, somehow this beautiful thing has made it's way into my closet. or back in, i should say. i bought the original rocco with brass studs back in 2010 during my first trip to new york (barneys, you are heaven), and foolishly sold it not too long after. i admit, the crazy hype over an 'it' piece of clothing, coupled with the fact everyone and their grandmother has it always turns me off wanting to own it myself; this is probably why i let my original one go in the first place. but i've come to realise that i didn't like the rocco because of it's status, i like it because, let's face it, it's a fucking bad ass of a bag. i'd been looking for a bigger bag for two years now and could never make up my mind. but when i stepped into green with envy in melbourne and spied it sitting defiantly atop a display of bags and shoes, i knew that it was pointless to try fight fate. apologies to the shop assistants who had to watch me coo and stroke it for the good part of an hour, but hey, it was love.
